Telecommunications Senior Designer

French & Parrello is seeking a senior designer to support our telecommunications group in Alpharetta, GA. Must have knowledge of the telecommunications site development process and will focus on new site development of macro and small cell sites, the modification of existing telecommunications facilities, fiber optic networks, and other project types as required.

Responsibilities:

• Create engineering drawings using AutoCAD for telecommunications new site builds, modification projects, site upgrades, fiber optic builds and small cells.
• Production of error free tower and mount modification drawings, TIA inspection reports, and PMI reports with given site mapping notes and photos is a plus.
• Track assigned tasks and prioritize completion of tasks accordingly
• Maintain CAD standards and templates
• Learn new telecommunications equipment and client-specific equipment and their usage
• Learn conduit design from client-specific standards.
• Read and analyze blueprints, structural building drawings, construction drawings, and plans
• Routinely produce accurate drawings promptly and efficiently
• Perform right-of-way and utility research.
• Ability to complete complex CAD drawings independently in a timely manner.
• Evaluate the design for constructability
• Research municipal databases for mapping information
• Learn fiber optic specifications, equipment and usage.
• Learn and produce site specific traffic control plans.
• Create underground utility profiles for proposed conduit paths

Qualifications:

• Technical degree or appropriate commensurate experience required, B.S. Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Construction preferred
• 5+ years’ experience with the production of engineering drawings
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as Autodesk Inventor
• Working knowledge of RISA 3D and tnxTower a plus
• Ability to work autonomously without supervision required.
• Experience with the production of structural and/or civil engineering drawings for telecommunications new site builds, upgrades, and fiber optic networks (or similar site engineering drawings) required.
• Telecommunications and/or utility experience required.
• Ability to review and analyze site documentation and gather necessary information to complete the assignment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $38.00 – $42.00 per hour
