Field Service Coordinator

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Field Service Coordinator position located in Wallingford, Connecticut. The Field Service Coordinator will work on project teams install rack or wall mount electronic equipment, make ready cabling, field engineering support, commissioning, and start-up solutions for project deliverables for client Networks, Integration & Automation (NIA) projects throughout the nation.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering, preferably in the utility/transmission & distribution industry.

Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.

Field Service Coordinator Responsibilities:

• Conducting site visits and gathering data to support Telecommunications Engineering projects
• Conducting Matterport scans, taking photographs, tracing cables, and evaluating constructability for engineering designs
• Understanding the engineering design, which involves the addition of networking equipment in substation utility environments
• Working with the engineering team to tailor site visits to gather the necessary information
• Communicating effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders
• Traveling to various locations in the greater northeast, including MA, CT, RI, NH, VT and upstate NY.

Requirements of the Field Service Coordinator:

• Associate or Bachelors degree in information technology/systems, electrical/electronics, field/construction engineering or related degree preferred
• Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
• 5+ years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering, preferably in the utility/transmission & distribution industry
• Engineering degree preferred
• Knowledge of SONET, SEL ICON, MPLS, OTN, DMX, channel bank, DS0, T1
• Experience with fiber, network and telecom projects
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in the field for extended periods of time
• Willingness to travel to various locations
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45.00 – $60.00 per hour
