Company Description: Redwood designs and implements converged networking solutions for customers in the Hospitality, Healthcare, and Multi-Family Dwelling markets. We specialize in PBX (on premise or cloud hosted), IP CCTV, Wireless HSIA, IP Access Control, Managed Services, Optical Networks and dial tone provider.
This can be an entry level position for candidates with either previous work experience in the field or candidate that may not have the work experience but have built computers, gaming systems, coding etc.. Someone who is also good with physical installation of mounting wireless access points, CCTV camera’s and is tool savvy.
Job Description: A field technician will be asked to perform the following:
- Install low voltage cabling (Cat6, etc.) for both new construction and retrofit projects.
- Install network equipment such as managed network switches, IP cameras, wireless access points, and IP phones.
- Troubleshoot network/wiring/equipment problems for existing CCTV, WiFi, and PBX customers.
- Assist with building servers (bare metal and virtual hosts running VMWare ESXi).
- Candidate must have the willingness and ability to travel for project installations around the U.S.
- On site troubleshooting of PCs and printers for Managed Services customers.
Job Requirements a PLUS but Not mandatory but willing to train
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP (IPV4 subnetting/addressing).
- Understanding of VLANs/Managed Network Switches.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb a ladder (installation of cabling/cameras/wireless access points).
- Good communication skills (via email and in person).
- Asterix phone systems knowledge a plus
- Mitel and or any other IP Phone systems a plus or equivalent but not mandatory
- Experience with IPCCTV installation and troubleshooting a plus.
- Assembling and Building of servers
- Local and Cloud Virtualization
