Telecommunications Construction Crew

S&K Electrical Contracting, LLC is seeking crew members to be based at its Gonzales Headquarters. S & K Electrical Contracting is a leading wireless communications network services provider and serves the states of Texas and Louisiana by providing Commercial Communication Towers, complete with In-house Civil and Electrical Crews. We offer complete turn-key construction services which include installation of roads, leveling and rocking site compounds, installation of fences, installation of equipment shelters and tower foundations, setting equipment shelters, and any other civil work required to complete the project.

Job Description

• You will dig using hand shovel, picks, and digging bars to expose located utilities, access underground vaults and pedestals, and complete trenches.
• You will assist in the loading/unloading of equipment and supplies needed for daily work assignments, setting-up of worksite traffic and safety controls and properly securing work area.
• You will install and maintenance of telecommunications cabling
• You will climb in and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
• You will operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
• You will work in congested or remote areas
• You will maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
• You will perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
• You will maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

Qualifications

• You are at least 18 years old
• You are authorized to work in the United States
• You have a valid standard Driver’s License or Class A Commercial Driver’s License
• You have basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
• You have basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
• You may have experience in the construction industry
• You are able to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
• You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
• You are able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call
• You are able to maintain a safe work environment
• You are able to work in all weather conditions
