Chemonics seeks a Francophone Integrated Services (Family Planning (FP), Maternal and Child Health (MCH), Nutrition) Consultant for the ongoing USAID Frontier Health Markets Engage project in Madagascar. Building on over 30 years of USAID investment, FHM Engage focuses on strengthening local health markets by addressing the root causes of market failures in the core market functions to create the necessary behavior change that catalyzes supply and demand and supports sustainable change. Under the supervision of the FHM Engage Madagascar Project Manager and the technical supervision of the Technical Specialist and Pathfinder’s technical team, the Integrated Services Consultant is expected to find solutions to improve the supply of and demand for integrated FP, MCH and Nutrition services in urban/peri-urban and rural areas, including youth-friendly services adapted to young people through practices, medical centers, pharmacies, distributors, and possibly community agents (CAs). This position will be based in Antananarivo, Madagascar. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct a literature review of existing information/programs and policies in the areas of Adolescent and Youth Reproductive Health (AYRH), Nutrition, MCH and FP
- Design a model for a single package of integrated package of integrated services including FP, MCH and Nutrition for hard-to-reach populations, taking into account the results of the FP, MCH and Nutrition market description, the APC, CCH – GD and CC workshops, as well as other relevant resources/experiences on FP/MCH and Nutrition
- Design a training curriculum on these integrated services – or update/adapt an adapt an existing curriculum – with a view to training private-sector health providers on the delivery of integrated services.
- Conduct a validation process of the integrated services package model and training curriculum through a validation workshop or other strategies.
- Develop market solutions for integrated FP service delivery, MCH and Nutrition services focused on youth and hard-to-reach populations, as well as results-based demand generation solutions.
Qualifications:

A degree in medicine, public health or a similar field of study with a minimum a minimum of Bacc+5, with a specialization in youth, adolescent, mother and child health.

At least 10 years’ experience in MCH, FP, nutrition and reproductive health for adolescents and young people.

Have a thorough knowledge of or have already worked in the private health sector in Madagascar, particularly in peri-urban and/or “landlocked” areas.

Understanding of the FP, MCH and nutrition market in Madagascar

Ability to analyze and design sustainable market solutions

Proven experience in work with youth would be an asset

Good communication and writing skills in French

Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity
