Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM has been active in Poland since 2002 under an agreement with the Polish government and conducts various migration programs, including activities supporting the integration of male and female migrants into Polish society. IOM in Poland implements projects aimed at the private sector to promote ethical recruitment, respect for the rights of migrants and migrant women as well as the elimination of forced labour from value chains and the prevention of human trafficking.
Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Public Information Coordinator, and overall supervision by the Chief of Mission, and close coordination with IOM Regional Office in Brussels, the successful candidate will support in generating and coordinating content across all IOM Poland social media platforms to reflect IOM’s work in Poland and increase its visibility.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of effective digital strategies and integrated online campaigns to enhance the digital presence of IOM Poland projects and activitiesIn collaboration with the Graphic Designer and Communication Coordinator, compose, organise and publish daily posts for Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Support the Communication Coordinator with newsletter curation and distribution.
- In coordination with the Graphic Designer and Communications Coordinator support the design of audiovisual content, like quote cards, GIFs, videos, infographics, banners according to each platform’s specific publishing requirements.
- Analyse on regular basis key performance indicators for each platform and adjust approach based on the results to achieve the end of year goals. In coordination with IOM unit heads, ensure sufficient visibility of donor-funded projects, including support in reporting phase.
- Translate content from English to Polish for various platforms, included but not limited to website, social media, flyers, reports and more.
- Ensure compliance with IOM and donor visibility requirements.
- Ensure that messaging included in public-facing content is consistent with the strategic objectives of the Organization and in line with its Media and Communications strategy.
- Follow social media trends and propose innovative ways to showcase IOM’s work across all platforms.
- Perform any other duties which may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
University degree in Media Relations, Communications, Digital Media or Marketing or other related disciplines from an accredited institution with three years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills
- Experience in social media, digital marketing, public information, public relations, or related field is required.
- Experience creating content for and managing online communities and knowledge-sharing platforms is required.
- Experience in digital or print content production, including graphic design, photography, and videography for online platforms
- Experience with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other online platforms in a professional setting.
- Experience with social media analytics and how to optimize posts for maximum impact is desirable.
- Experience working in multi- cultural setting is advantage.
- Knowledge of Hootsuite or other tool for content management is necessary.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Creative flair and the ability to drive innovation.
- Ability to use relevant design and desktop publishing hardware and software such as InDesign, Illustrator, Adobe Premier pro is an advantage.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Languages
For this position native level English and Polish is required. Working knowledge of Russian is desirable.
