Description
- Lead design of telecommunications networks utilizing client standards or developing new standards.
- Manage project deliverables such as: bill of materials, specifications, yard layouts, equipment plans, sections and details, wiring diagrams, control building arrangements, DC calculations, cable lists, SCADA points lists, device configuration files, network architecture diagrams, channel plans, RF path studies, and cutover plans
- Lead execution of complex assignments requiring the use of advanced tools and techniques, resulting in the development of new or improved processes, equipment and/or technological methods.
- Identify, communicate and lead resolution of issues on projects as needed.
- Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced staff members.
- Work with the project manager to support project schedule and meet deadlines.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure deliverables and services are being provided to client’s satisfaction and that projects are following internal QA/QC guidelines.
- Perform design quality reviews.
- Meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel to develop relationships with key client points of contact.
- Lead in preparation of proposals and presentations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer or other related engineering discipline from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 7 years utility telecommunications project or related experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration required.
- Consulting experience preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.
- Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered.
Physical –
Primarily an office working environment. Must have the ability to use repetitive hand motion and the ability to grasp and type using general office equipment. Must be able to sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, walk and stand. Must be able to lift and or move up to 10 pounds.
Travel to a client site may require traversing potentially ungraded ground, steps, ladders, etc.

Requires the ability to collect and analyze information to make decisions. Must have the ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems; the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities; the ability to read and apply financial and quantitative analysis; the ability to articulate and speak in front of others; the ability to work under stressful situations, good cognitive skills, ability to maintain accuracy in work, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time. Must have the ability to understand and apply written/verbal instructions and the ability to delegate instructions.
