5G Test Engineer (Corning Incorporated – Milpitas, CA). Multiple openings.

Support development & system integration for 5G (Sub6 & mmW) products, including air interface (downlink/uplink) scheduling, power control, beamforming & multi-input multi-output (MIMO), End2End performance, protocol & call processing on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC & PDCP layers; define system test cases on Testrail & JIRAS & automation execution using Python; perform quality assurance testing, analyze test results, debug failures & work closely w/ the development team to identify root causes & resolve problems by using test tools; perform system (SW+HW) characterization & validate product specs by collecting & processing test data using QCOM MTP UE, Keysight spectrum analyzer & Viavi TM500. Bachelor’s in Electrical Eng., Electronic Eng., Comp. Sci., Telecommunications Eng., Telecommunications, or related & 2 yrs exp. w/: protocols & call processing on LTE, WiFi or 5G technologies. 2 yrs exp.: working w/ test tools (can include: QCOM MTP UE, XCAL/QXDM, wireshark, channel emulator, spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Viavi TM500, or Keysight 5G test solution). 1 yr. exp.: w/ 3GPP specs & protocols testing on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, or PDCP layers; w/ LTE/5G system testing on PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, or PDCP layers; working w/ DL/UL Scheduling, Power Control, Beamforming, MIMO, or mobility.
