IDC Canada is seeking an Account Executive for our Canadian Events business. This Event Sales Specialist will play an integral role in moving the worldwide IDC events business forward within the Canadian Market.
The Account Executive will report directly into our Canadian Sales organization and will oversee sales of the IDC Canadian Events portfolio to both new and existing IDC customers. The successful candidate will be confident in their ability to work toward aggressive revenue goals and be a front-line leader for our Canadian customers to look for guidance in optimize their footprint within the Canadian events space. We are looking for someone with the ability to look down-field and a plan for meeting the strategic event needs of our largest customers, while also ensuring our day-to-day revenue goals are achieved.
The Account Executive will offer a unified and holistic view of our multiple Canadian events and will be tasked with implementing the appropriate strategies, tools, processes, and metrics that will guarantee a positive impact on IDC’s overall events revenue.
We are looking to further expand our successful syndicated and custom international events initiative by adding a Canadian based Events Bookings Leader who can deliver on our 3-year bookings growth plans primarily in a digital event environment. This is a new role at IDC, combining the power of the IDC brand with our consistent WW digital event portfolio. This is a full-time permanent position based in IDC’s Toronto, Canada office.
Responsibilities
The Account Executive Sales role will be our Canadian events specialist selling to the largest technology companies in the world. The goal of this important role will be to work with our current and prospect Canadian customers to understand their diverse events and lead generation requirements and holistically deliver solutions from our multiple events offering which meet and exceed their expectations. This role will collaborate with the entire Canadian Sales team as an events specialist.
The ideal candidate is a highly experienced event executive with strong operational, sales management, and digital platform experience who is proactive, innovative, and passionate about what virtual events and an in-person portfolio has to offer.
Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Work to develop, refine, and articulate go-forward strategies to expand our event revenue lines
Partner with key internal stakeholders and lead the charge in finding new and unique ways to engage with our clients and provide world-class solutions to help them meet their business objectives
Be an expert in the entire IDC event product portfolio and the “face of IDC Events” in Canada
Assist in creating bookings plans and establish financial targets
Qualifications
Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5+ years of hands-on sales and preferably C-level events management experience
Demonstrable track record of managing sizable revenue goals
The ability to take a metrics and data driven approach to pipeline management and the ability to accurately and confidently forecast results
Comfortable in front of senior customers and an innate ability to clearly pitch and articulate the IDC Value Proposition
Understanding the requirements and activities of tech industry CMOs
