Acquisition Surveyor

Due to continued growth Mitie Telecoms are looking for an Acquisition Surveyor to join the team. The post holder will maintain a portfolio of telecommunication sites under the operational guidance of the Lead Acquisition Surveyor, delivering exceptional results whilst maximising profitability and the strategic needs of the business.

What will the role look like?

Liaising with clients, design consultants, radio planners, planning officers and site providers to achieve project goals, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of telecommunication sites and carry out all related activities, including:-

• site searches, audit reports, MSV attendance, client reporting, submission of planning applications, negotiation of heads of terms, completion of 3rd party applications, legal liaison, and handover documentation.

The right candidate will also:-

• Identify and investigate sites which meet the operational needs of the client’s business and manage the acquisition process of such sites from identification to possession, utilising a right first-time approach.
• Adopt a right first-time approach to the drawing approval process ensuring that plans are fit for purpose from the outset
• Maintain an oversight on planning activities and where required complete pre-consultation and planning application requirements to industry standards.
• Utilise market knowledge and negotiation skills to present the best available deal to the client in agreed timeframes.

What are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of Property/Planning law in relation to telecommunications development. Whilst actively manage a portfolio of sites from inception to completion, achieving project milestone targets as measured against client SLA’s/KPI’s and internal forecasting.

Other key skills will include:-

• The ability and knowledge to negotiate consensual deals under the legislative backdrop of the New Telecommunication Code
• Provide accurate reporting both internally and externally and attend progress meetings as required
• Ensure documentation is produced to required standards and accurate records kept
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills along with the ability to be an inspiring individual and team player.

It is also desirable that you will be a Professional Member of the RICS

Where is the role located ?

• UK Wide Role with access to many of the Mitie offices located in London, Tewkesbury, Birmingham, Glasgow to name a few. Therefore a clean driving license with no more than 6 points is preferred.
