Aerial Lineman – Telecommunications

Job Description:

Telecommunications Aerial Lineman

WaveStar Networks is currently looking for experienced Telecommunications Aerial Lineman. You will be responsible for constructing new or additive aerial fibre and coaxial line builds for various leading telecommunications companies within the GTA and surrounding areas. This is a full time position.

With head offices located in Richmond Hill ON, WaveStar Networks is a Canadian company with over 15 years’ experience providing a wide array of network infrastructure and communication system services as well as professional and consulting services to telecommunication/ISP providers, data center operators and corporate/business/public sector customers.

Responsibilities:

· Perform outside plant aerial line construction of fibre and coax cables by using cable lashing machines, bucket trucks, ladders and other climbing and lineman equipment

· Perform testing and troubleshooting when required

· Work directly with project coordinators to ensure timely completion of projects.

· Organize and plan activities as detailed on work orders and meet schedules.

· Adhere to company and industry safety requirements

· Setting up and maintaining a safe working environment

· Maintain inventory required for daily activities

Requirements:

· 1-3 Years lineman experience in a telecommunications environment

· 1-3 Years operating bucket truck and using climbing equipment

· Experienced in building aerial infrastructure

· Experienced at using aerial lashing equipment

· Previous fibre splicing experience considered an ASSET

· Able to read construction drawings.

· Able to safely lift heavy objects

· Able to work in all weather conditions

· Able to travel, including overnight stays for out of town work.

· A strong commitment to safety

· Hold valid Driver’s Licence (Class G) and Clean Drivers Abstract

Salary: Based on experience
