Job description:
Reporting to crew Foreman and Field Manger, assisting in the construction, maintenance, repair of cellular towers, sites and their associated equipment.
- Tower and cell-site installation and routine maintenance
- Antenna modifications / adds
- Radio modifications / adds
- Steel installation & modifications
- Repair or replace defective equipment on tower or Rooftops
- Preform tests with sweep gear & OTDR to locate transmission faults
- Assist crew foreman in daily construction duties
- Follow the governmental and company health and safety policies
- Attend preconstruction walks when required
- Work with crew members in a positive manner to promote a safe working environment, learning and furthering of crew members skills and abilities.
- Work with foreman to analyze project requirements with respect to equipment & materials
- Work with crew in ensuring quality control of work

Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Telecom industry system requirements (rooftops, monopoles, towers)
- Ability to identify safe working conditions and take a proactive approach to maintaining them.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license (other class licenses and or crane certificates an asset)
- Requires a strong ability to read and interpret site plans, engineering and construction drawings
- Possess strong industry related skills, rigging, steel erection, line installation, antenna and microware installation, testing and trouble shooting
- Requires a strong ability to use test related equipment such as sweep gear, OTDR & Fiber fusion
- This job requires the ability to work at height for extended periods when required. Physical ability to climb ladders and towers with equipment/materials on a regular basis.
- Willing to work outdoors and be exposed to all types of weather
- Must be authorized to work in Canada
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Clean Criminal record
- Maintain a professional working relationship with co-workers and clients
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and have a positive attitude
- Working at heights certification is required
Work Environment
- This job is performed mainly in a construction/field environment type setting. This requires extensive travel when needed and exposure to inclement weather conditions. This job requires the ability to work at height for extended periods when required. Physical ability to climb ladders and towers with equipment/materials on a regular basis.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $20.00-$40.00 per hour
