Interview Process:

C2C Rate: $70/Hr on W2

Project Details:

Supporting all networking and telecommunication related IT services (maintenance, troubleshooting, configuring, upgrading, building, etc.) for the Peraton County of San Diego program (CoSD) – covers all of SLED in San Diego county (which is second largest in the nation I believe) SLED = state, local, education. This program is ongoing as all these facilities need IT networking or Telecom services are supported by these engineers at AT&T.

THE NETWORK: 15,000 end users on the network. 300 locations. 1500 nodes.

Must-Have Skills:

• 10+ years of experience focused on Cisco switching and routing technologies:
  • Proficient in network equipment configuration and installation
  • Experience designing, planning, and executing network upgrades and migrations
  • Experience working on different sized networks
  • Needs to be able to speak the language of the building in terms of fiber connections, cabling, and network
• In-Building Network Infrastructure Design and Deployment experience (this person CAN’T just be a data center network engineer – he already has those)
  • In-Building = Schools, government Buildings, Apartment Buildings, Businesses, Skyscrapers, etc.
  • Building out IT infrastructure in these facilities/buildings
• Proficient in network Drawings, floor layouts, rack evaluations:
  • Visio experience is preferred
  • Experience creating network build documentation
• Must have Field Network Engineering Experience
  • Going into the field to install and deploy new network/infrastructure equipment in buildings (government buildings, stadiums, schools, apartments, etc.)
• Active Cisco Network Certifications (previously expired we will take, if the experience is extremely strong and recent):
  • CCNA
  • CCNP
• Must have a Reliable vehicle and Active Drivers license

Nice to Have Skills:

• Aruba Experience is STRONGLY PREFERRED
• Functional knowledge of Wireshark
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Daily Responsibilities:

• Work with Jr. Field Network Engineer
• Lead all refresh and remodel of sites
• Rack evaluations
• Run network diagnostics
• Accurately define building needs or additional onsite obligations

Day to Day:

• Individual contributor responsible for owning and managing all day to day monitoring, maintenance, administration, and performance management of specific elements and services.

• This person is fully responsible for the uptime and availability of platforms, elements and services.

• Responsible for the operational testing and implementation of new hardware and configurations.

• May assist in the coordination, partnership and management of technology vendors, outside consultants and internal dotted line resources as needed.

• Works as part of a 24X7 staff to delivers network technical support to address escalations.

• Provides the technical troubleshooting and leadership skills required to recover from the most complex network problems in real time to restore service.

• Identification of root cause, resolution, work around, testing and implementation of fixes or design changes to restore and improve customer service.

• As subject matter experts, works closely with business partners to identify and quantify business issues associated with specific projects, develop and implement business strategy, and assist in setting strategic technical direction in support of customer facing organizations.

• Review and approve proposed technical systems designs to insure business requirements are met.

• May assist in providing leadership for projects, including such activities as developing business cases, defining business and or technical requirements and preparing detailed plans and schedules.

• May lead cross-functional teams on specific issues and or projects.

• May review and interpret technical documentation and vendor specifications for inclusion / adaptation into network standards
