Position Summary:
Creative Associates seeks a Software Developer to join the Application Development team. The Developer will producing high-quality custom solutions for various enterprise business systems and custom applications. The developer will conduct backend software development in a Microsoft environment and play a critical role in advancing the departments goals. The incumbent will have the opportunity to learn new and emerging technologies, as well as participate in development of various systems, languages, and platforms.
Application Development is a close-nit team of professionals who are dedicated to producing technical solutions in partnership with the business.
Reporting & Supervision:
This position reports to the Technical Lead, Application Development.
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- In service of the business, develop custom, high-quality, scalable, and dynamic applications in accordance with Applications Development policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform Microsoft SQL Database Administration, including programmability (stored procedures and/or functions, and triggers), and custom schema (tables, views).
- Perform scripted SQL data clean-up and normalization against to ensure data quality and reduce duplication.
- Provide accurate level of effort estimations and ensure on-time project delivery. Maintain communication with stakeholders and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Build daemon applications to facilitate systems integration, process automation, and data transformation using C#/.NET, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools.
- Develop custom solutions for Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) applications including SharePoint, Dynamics CRM/CE, or others as assigned.
- Construct and maintain custom .NET MVC, Web API, and .NET Core applications.
- Debug technical solutions and maintain documentation and code comments, particularly surrounding system quirks and issues which may impact end-user experience.
- Conduct low, or no-code application development and configuration as needed primarily using Microsoft Power Platform.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working as a developer, administrator, or other related technical position.
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, database normalization, stored procedures.
- C# .NET MVC/Web API/Core, PowerShell
- Native JavaScript required, with React, TypeScript, or similar JS framework preferred.
- Microsoft Azure cloud services: Azure App Service, Azure AD (Enterprise Applications, groups, and users), CDN, and Azure Functions.
- Robust experience executing code against first and third-party APIs, including knowledge of REST, WCF/SOAP, OData, OAuth 2.
- Git/GitHub version control system.
- Azure DevOps, Jira, Team Foundation Server (TFS), or similar
- Occasional travel to Creative’s Headquarters office for collaboration, rollout, teambuilding, or other reasons may be required from time to time.
- Understanding of database development and normalization. SQL experience required.
- Ability to change priorities quickly and handle ambiguity. Possess capacity to handle multiple ongoing tasks/projects.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle, specifically Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with accounting and finance processes, systems, and data structures preferred
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new and emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical ability.
