Bell’s TV SRE Video Origin Team delivers new technologies, services, and features that help drive next generation television products for our customers. We are seeking a motivated team member to join us in the Delivery, Operations, Innovation, and Evolution of our Video Origin domain and be a part of becoming Canada’s Best Video Experience.

How you contribute to our vision:
You would be joining a team of accomplished technical experts who are responsible for Delivery and Operations of the Video Storage & Processing Platform (VSPP) for the Video Origin backend of the FibeTV App, AltTv and Next-Gen IPTV services. This would include development, deployment and maintenance of new technologies, services and features.

The successful candidate must be able to collaborate with multiple teams and drive deliverables both individually and as part of a group, with a strong sense of ownership and focus to evolve a high performing team culture. The candidate must have the progressive mindset to succeed in an agile environment. Looking for opportunities to foster effective team improvements and complement the team dynamic.

The position requires a seasoned video technology professional with exceptional oral, written, communication and influence skills. With a strong appreciation for partnership.

Key Responsibilities:
Development, deployment and operations of Video Origin environment

Troubleshooting real time issues with focus on customer impact reduction and service stability

Continuous evolution of alerting, metrics and KPIs as a team

Determining root cause of complex issues

Vendor incident and case management

Foster an inclusive, collaborative, high-performance, and continuous-learning work environment.

Actively participate and lead by example on Post Mortems, Continuous-Improvement activities and tools for the team

Required Qualifications:
Advanced Linux knowledge, administrator level competency

Scripting knowledge. Python, Shell Scripting and Linux tools

Experience with packet analysis

Excellent analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and decision-making skills.

Workplace culture enthusiast who promotes fun, inclusion, and a continuous-learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Educational Background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience

Experience in telecommunications or video broadcast

Good understanding of video technology ecosystem

Proven ability to deliver on a portfolio, of a large and complex nature, while leveraging lean agile methodologies.

Exceptional oral, written communication, analytical and presentation skills

Previous experience in working with lean and agile scrum methodologies

Strong leadership and partnership skills

Can work autonomously and feel empowered to take decisions without intervention

Must be able to stand on their own two feet in driving clarity in ambiguous situations
