Position
- This is a field position that will require you to work primarily at powerline construction sites. While Texas will be your primary area of operations, you may be required to travel out of state for other projects.
As Probst Electric expands its operations throughout Texas, we seek an Assistant Project Manager who will participate in the management of transmission and distribution powerline construction and maintenance projects. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, you will learn about the high-voltage industry and our project management and construction processes.
Tasks
- Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
- Assist with managing project costs to stay within the forecasted budget range.
- Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, subcontractors, or engineers to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
- Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developer.
- Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, or systems.
- Execute corrective actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies.
Qualifications
- Relevant degree and/or work experience required
- Must be willing to work out of construction sites in various climates and potentially harsh conditions
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Must be willing to travel
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screening(s).
