JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Sr. Electronics Technician Supervisor, provide the primary technical field support to the 800 MHz Radio system administrations and MATV system maintenance and troubleshooting. Secondary will be responsible for troubleshooting network infrastructure in support of the operational functions of the UCD network that include troubleshooting, repair, documentation, and coordination with other internal and external network activities as necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position requires lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Position requires using a ladder or other assisted lifting device to work at heights of up to 10 feet.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Valid CA driver’s license required.
- Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicle Pull Notice System.
- Work occasional evenings/nights, weekends and holidays; participate in formal on-call status for after-hours repair/response.
- Position may, at times, require employee to work with or be in areas where hazardous materials and/or infectious diseases are present.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience with Motorola radio trunking systems, radio security and system implementation, and CPS/RSS radio programming software and tools.
- Experience configuring and maintaining radio, networking data, wireless equipment and video equipment.
- Knowledge of government regulations and regulatory and tariff rulings pertaining to radio and wireless systems and services.
- Knowledge of fiber optic troubleshooting and termination/splices.
- Knowledge of Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) equipment and safe tower climbing practices.
Preferred:
- Experience with configuration and protocols associated with 800MHz radio equipment, wireless repeaters, and antenna systems.
- Experience assimilating and implementing emerging technology as directed by engineering, management, and technical teams.
- Skills with routers, hubs, and switches.
- Sniffer (protocol analyzing) skills.
- Ability to integrate toolsets with advanced technology.
- Oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to interact with, and convey technical information to, technical and non-technical audiences.
