Connectivity solutions consist of fiber optic and copper cabling, wireless RF solutions, security and various building automation services. We employ RCDD, PE and CAD technicians to service and manage our projects. Systems we design & deploy are Data cabling, IP networks for surveillance and access control, HSIA or in-building DAS, as well as IoT sensors to automate data collection in the smart building of the future. Our vertical markets service transportation, education, banking, telecom and government construction services as well as developers engaged in mixed use mid and high-rise corporate facilities, hotels and condominiums.

Responsibilities: AutoCAD® Designer. Works closely with project engineering & field staff to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction for each project assignment. Prepares take-off and design drawings. This position requires a broad-based knowledge of local and wide area networks, structured cabling systems comprising fiber and copper mediums, wireless, audio-visual, construction methods and means and the ability to apply this expertise in a wide variety of customer settings.

The incumbent shall be responsible for conducting detailed site surveys, assist in the design state-of-the-art information transport systems, preparing detailed “Bill of Materials,” writing eloquent and accurate Statement of Work documents, assisting in preparation of technical presentations and drawing the system and details in AutoCAD.
The incumbent will be required to prepare work plans, edit and revise work plans, prepare change order pricing from newly issued drawing packages and assist project manager / project engineer in the successful, profitable job closeout.

Desired Skills and Experience
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Thorough knowledge of physical plants, building structures, electrical and structural codes and regulations and routing conditions within and between buildings for aerial, conduit and underground cabling.
Must be proficient in AutoCAD® 2019 or above, intermediate to advanced levels. Intermediate use of Microsoft Visio® Professional 2016.
Ability to read and interpret blue prints for the purpose of designing cable plant configurations, audio-visual layouts, wireless systems and estimating time, material and technicians’ requirements for effective, timely job completion. Fundamental knowledge in cable and wiring standards such as ANSI/TIA 568.C, ANSI/TIA 569, ANSI/TIA 606 and the ability to apply them in cabling design, and implementation.

EDUCATION:
Requires a minimum two (2) years college level courses, preferably in the computer sciences, construction management, architectural, or engineering areas. A minimum of five (5) years directly related work experience may be substituted for course work.

EXPERIENCE:
For an individual possessing minimum educational requirements this position requires a minimum of two (2) years direct industry-related work experience in AutoCAD®. A proficiency with AutoCAD® version 2016 through 2019 is required. A minimum of five (5) years direct industry- related work experience is required for an individual not possessing minimum educational requirements.

FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS:
The fundamental skills required are: time management; project management, ability to communicate technical matters in a clear and concise manner both verbally and written in English; ability to read and understand highly technical publications, bid proposals and instructions.
This position requires an advanced proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software as well as drawing programs such as Microsoft Visio® and Autodesk AutoCAD®.
