AV Low Voltage Technician

Next Level Technician


Urgently hiring A/V Technicians and Low Voltage Technicians for a long-term opportunity in the Charlotte, NC area! Qualified candidates must have 2+ years of experience.

Hiring AV Technicians (promethean board installation a plus!)

Major Responsibilities and duties:

Task include – rack assembly, equipment placement, equipment mounting, wire terminations. Promethean board installation a plus!

Read and interpret prints

Cable installation and proper termination (including testing)

Work in an organized and clean manner

General knowledge of construction and of the AV industry

Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

Attain basic control system knowledge ability to do basic updates and changes

Ability to train and communicate with the customer on proper use of the system

Develop trouble shooting ability and diagnostics

Work in a team environment with respect to others.

Approach each day with a positive attitude and the willingness to learn from your task

All work must meet or exceed industry standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21- $25 per hour

Low Voltage Cable Technician Responsibilities:

  • Pull, terminate, dress and label CAT5/6 cable
  • Run Fiber
  • Test all installed cable using appropriate testing equipment
  • Punch down voice and data jacks
  • Install and terminate racks, cable trays, patch panels, cabinets, MDF/IDF, workstation outlets, firestopping etc.
  • Work from all size ladders and varied lifts (must be comfortable with heights)
  • Read and interpret general system layouts from blueprints

Low Voltage Cable Technician Requirements:

  • 2+ years commercial and/or industrial low voltage experience
  • BICSI, Lift, and OSHA Certifications are a PLUS
  • Pass Criminal Background and Drug Screen
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable Transportation
  • Basic hand tools and PPE gear (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, steel-toe boots)
  • Working knowledge of the ANSI, TIA, EIA & BICSI cabling standards and the National Electric Code (NEC)
  • Working knowledge of telecom & data networks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour
