Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Avaya Telecom Engineer to join our team. As an Avaya
Telecom Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Avaya telecommunications infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide support to end-users. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of Avaya telecom systems, excellent problemsolving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Design, configure, and implement Avaya telecommunications systems, including Avaya Aura Communication Manager, Session Manager, and Avaya IP Office.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure the Avaya telecom infrastructure meets business needs.
- Install, upgrade, and maintain Avaya telecom equipment, servers, gateways, switches, and endpoints.
- Monitor system performance and network traffic, identify potential issues, and implement proactive measures to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Avaya telecom systems, including voice quality, connectivity, and integration problems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, resolve user-reported issues, and conduct training sessions to enhance their understanding of Avaya telecom systems.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of communication data.
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to procure telecom equipment, negotiate contracts, and ensure effective service delivery.
- Stay updated with Avaya product releases, patches, and firmware updates, evaluate their applicability, and plan and execute system upgrades accordingly.
- Document system configurations, network diagrams, troubleshooting procedures, and user guides to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Proven experience with 5-7 years as an Avaya Telecom Engineer, working with Avaya Aura Communication Manager, Session Manager, and Avaya IP Office.
- Strong knowledge of Avaya telephony systems, including VoIP, SIP, H.323, ISDN, and digital/analog endpoints.
- Proficiency in Avaya call routing, voice mail, conferencing, and contact center solutions.
- Familiarity with Avaya Communication Manager features such as Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Call Detail Recording (CDR), and Call Management System (CMS).
- Experience with Avaya System Manager for administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of IP networking concepts, protocols, and technologies, including LAN, WAN, VLAN, and routing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide user support.

Relevant Avaya certifications, such as Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS) or Avaya Certified Support Specialist (ACSS), are highly desirable.
