Our Level 1, acute care psychiatric facility located in Tempe is licensed to treat adults and adolescents for a wide range of psychiatric conditions and chemical dependency. Our team is currently accepting applications for a BHT to work with children/adolescents who present with specialized needs based on developmental diagnoses such as Autism as well as intellectual delays.
The Specialized Needs Unit Behavioral Health Tech, BHT is responsible and accountable for assisting the RN in-patient care and facilitating individualized behavioral and therapeutic interventions developed by the clinical team. Under the supervision of the RN, the BHT will assist with patients’ activities of daily living. The BHT is also an active participant in clinical staffings as needed and will provide ongoing feedback to the clinical team regarding patient progress with treatment to include data from direct behavior observation. The BHT will assist in maintaining overall milieu programming and structure as directed. The BHT will provide crisis intervention when needed to maintain safety and assist the clinical team in the implementation of the patient treatment and care plan. The BHT will conduct structured activities as assigned by the Charge Nurse/Therapist to support treatment goals and objectives.
All BHT duties will be performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the hospital as well as state and regulatory agencies.

Requirements: This is not an entry level BHT position
Four years of direct care experience with children/adolescents who present with specialized needs
Certified in TO, CPR and First Aid Training or completed within first 30 days of hire.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Able to pass a background check, drug screen, and possess or obtain a level one Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
High School Diploma or verifiable equivalent;
- Must demonstrate competency based on unit specific behavior intervention
Job Type- Full Time Day and Noc Shift- 7a to 730p- rotating schedule. Every other Fri, Sat, Sun is required.
