Field Technician
Ethoplex is searching for a Broadband Installation Technician / Tower Technician / Underground construction laborer to join our team, as we expand our rural broadband services. This position would have the opportunity to wear multiple hats within the company, handling specific tasks across the ISP network, and for customer related projects. The right person here would be able to jump in and hit the ground running as a key member of our team, helping grow our business.
Responsibilities:
Employees are responsible for the facilities used to deliver internet services to customers. Job includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
● Installing customer premise equipment(switches, routers, wireless radios, fiber optics)
● Performing site-surveys to determine customer serviceability
● Supporting existing internet services customers (Voip, internet) via chat, email, telephone, and in person.
● Mounting equipment on customer facilities and running cable
● Assisting sales dept with technical related questions
● Using a ladder to get on rooftops to install and service equipment
● Climbing towers to install and service equipment
● Operating construction equipment such as directional drills, cable plows, mini excavators, etc
● Participate in on-call rotation
● Clean vehicles, equipment, jobsites, and workspaces
● Repair and maintain tools, vehicles, and other equipment
● Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
● Climb towers with proper equipment and ability to use ladders or bucket trucks.
● Drive company vehicle in a safe manner, sometimes with trailers
● Work and travel in inclement weather including rain, snow, heat, cold weather.
● Experience with basic networking
● Self-motivated, self-starter and able to learn on the fly
● Attention to detail and documentation
● Comfortable in front of a customer
● Continuously learn new skills and train other team members
● Positive, can-do attitude
● Ability to bend, sit, crawl, climb, and lift 75lbs
● Ability to occasionally travel for training, conferences, or projects
Nice to Have:
● Experience running and terminating cable (Cat5e)
● Experience with networking
● Experience with Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, or fixed-wireless
● Experience with tools, construction, or mechanical skills
● CDL License or willing to obtain
Note: You must be located within the state of Wisconsin and within 30-45 minutes from the Germantown area. Any applications from outside this area will be denied.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour
