Project: California COVID Reporting System (CCRS)
In 2020, Optum was contracted by California Department of Public Health to develop and deliver a new system that would consume COVID test results from hundreds of labs in CA. the COVID test results are typically submitted via SOAP or SFTP to Optum’s solution – CCRS – and our solution conducts extensive processing of the results. This processing includes: deduplication of test results; validation of data records submitted via the HL7 (Health Level 7) standard; normalization of lab test and result codes to standard terminologies (LOINC, SNOMED); and grading of test results for completeness and proper syntax.
The CCRS Data Quality Team is responsible for developing insights into the CCRS data to drive quality improvements and is responsible for contacting labs with data issues to improve data quality submissions.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze test results data that have been determined via CCRS processing to be incomplete, inaccurate or indeterminate in quality or content
- Outreach to labs for data quality improvements
- Work daily with client leads to determine outreach strategy
- Generate daily & weekly outreach reporting package for client
- Client-facing written and verbal communication skills

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years as data analyst
- 3+ years of SQL experience
- 1+ years of experience with health data analysis, preferably with HL7 data transmissions
- Solid SQL skills
- HL7 knowledge
- Understanding of CSV (comma separated value) record processing
- Technical data analysis skills to determine the root cause of a data issue(s) and ability to define a mitigation plan for the lab(s) to correct and resubmit
Preferred Qualifications:
- Communication skills to interact with client and client’s partner lab’s personnel

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
