About the role
The sort of person we are looking for, and what we want them to do….
Simply put, it’s time for broadband to Upp its game. We offer an amazing product in a market that is crying out for better broadband services. With eye wateringly fast speeds and a great monthly price, Upp’s broadband potential is massive.
The ideal candidate will should have gained experience in the Telcom industry, specifically relating to full fibre broadband and should be a true sales specialist. The ideal candidate should have an extensive knowledge of FFTP/FTTC and associated value added services, coupled with a deep understanding of the sales process. The ideal candidate would be a focused a seasoned hunter, possessing excellent communication skills and understanding the need for active listening and mirroring to build long-lasting rapport with all customers. Upp are looking to partner with an individual who is a strategic thinker, with a charismatic and energetic personality and a passion for generating sales opportunities from the ground up.
You would be working with the Sales and Marketing teams, including our Community Liaison team, and reporting to the B2B Sales Manager. You will be surrounded by an enthusiastic and supportive team who are passionate about building a professional sales culture and changing the face of broadband in Norfolk and Lincolnshire.

Key Requirements
So what does the role look like day-to-day?
Key responsibilities include…
- Manage your territory, work the prospect universe, build a long-range pipeline and managing contract end dates.
- Identify B2B opportunities, nurture these opportunities through the sales cycle and post-sale
- Conduct cold-calling and develop a script that maximises the chance of getting past the gatekeeper
- Develop effective relationships with businesses with the primary goal to increase Upp’s B2B market share and brand recognition
- Maintain excellent B2B relationships to ensure Upp are in the best possible position to retain the contract at renewal, and achieve positive testimonials and referrals recommendations
- Maintain an accurate database of leads, contacts, activities and opportunities in the company CRM. Salesforce experience is an advantage
- Negotiate and secure contracts with business customers and third-party intermediaries
- Represent Upp in the business community – working to be recognised and to establish a positive reputation within business groups and business forums
- Support the Community Liaison Manager in identifying and establishing local partnership opportunities
- Ensure we respond to local expectations and needs for social and environmental engagement and helping to bring value where we can

- A charismatic salesperson who is able to take clients on a journey of discovery and is capable of establishing the need for Upp’s services
- A skilled negotiator – able to secure profitable sales for the business and deliver a valuable service for the customer
- The ability to build a playbook on how best to sell to various customer segments that can be used repeatedly to sell to other customers
- Experience of selling broadband products or business services to SME’s primarily
- A company ambassador – able to represent Upp in a wide variety of situations
- A diplomat – able to handle customer objections constructively
- Experience of working with limited resources in a very fast paced, fluid environment
- Great at prioritising conflicting priorities and managing the expectations of customers and colleagues
- Resourceful and Innovative – able to create relevant, exciting new solutions to complex or challenging problems
- Experience of working with a challenger brand or market disruptor would be advantageous
- Must be a team player and be willing to win as a team
- Someone who truly encompasses the Upp brand
- Able to work to deadlines and work autonomously
