Summary: The candidate is responsible for the assembly of moderately complex cable and wire harness assemblies. The candidate must demonstrate quality workmanship and produce high quality assemblies that exceed our customer’s expectations, in accordance with industry standards.
Job Duties:
- Read moderately complex work orders, follow moderately complex production drawings and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Ability to read and follow wire harness assembly instructions/blueprints
- Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work in an organized manner
- Routes, wires, and assembles electronic components using wire layout boards
- Numerous hand assembly operations based on detailed instructions
- Operate semi-automatic equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers
- Conducts functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies using friendly test fixtures
- Use of a solder iron to solder wires to switches or connectors
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process assemblies and finished products
- Work with minimal supervision from the Production Department Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Wire/Cable harness assembly experience is a must
- Minimum of 4+ years’ experience in a manufacturing/assembly line
- Expected to read and comprehend process documentation including Bills of Materials and Assembly drawings.
- Expected to communicate well in English both verbally and in written format.
- Candidates should be very organized with the ability to keep count of parts.
- Candidates should have the ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- consistently at work and on time. Must adhere to company specified work schedule.
Education:
- High school diploma
- associate Degree (preferred)
