Minimum 1 Year Experience as a Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician
JobTracks Caribbean is currently seeking an experienced Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician. Broadband technicians are experts in the installation, application, and repair of internet or telecommunication systems and typically travel to homes and businesses, assist in customer support, and route the appropriate wires throughout the building when necessary.
Responsibilities of the Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician:
· A Broadband Techniciandirectly responsible for installation or service from the tap to the customers’ equipment. Installs equipment and network interface units and drops wires into customer location.
· Broadband Techniciandirectly responsible for installation or service from the Optical Terminal/Enclosure to the customers’ equipment. Installs Optical Network Terminal (ONT) equipment and network interface units and Optical drops and inside fiber into customer location.
· Disconnects and reconnects service as instructed.
· Accountable for referring problems between the tap and headend to plant technicians.
· Tests equipment to adjust signal strength and ensure optimum reception.
· A Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician must need to communicate with customers on-site, encouraging them to upgrade equipment or service packages.
· Represents the company and its service philosophy to the customer.
· Demonstrates proficiency in and working knowledge of most areas of the installation and service function.
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications technicians must be Handles semi-routine installations.
· Recognizes deviation from accepted practices and confirms with senior staff appropriate next steps.
· A Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician receives general instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
· Work is regularly supervised and reviewed for timeliness, accuracy, and correct procedures.
· A Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician must perform other duties as assigned.
Benefits of the Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician Position:

Qualifications of Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician Position:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 3-5 years of relevant work experience
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician need to knowBroadband Installation and Repair experience
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician must haveKnowledge of RF Test equipment and Fiber Optics test equipment
· Safe ladder handling
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to climb utility poles, work outdoors year-round, be unafraid of heights, work in small spaces like crawl spaces and attics
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with customers, peers, and superiors and follow instructions
· A Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician requires possession of a valid driver’s license, as well as a good driving record
· The physical demands for this position are typical to an office and field environment and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position
· Cable Fiber Telecommunications Technician need to knowBilingual in English and Spanish _is a plus, but not required
