We are looking for a motivated and productivity-oriented Coax Technician to join our expanding team!

Job Duties

· Place new underground cables through pedestals and manholes, lashing up new aerial plant

· Coax plant activation, cutting in taps, splitters, couplers, and amplifiers (both aerial and underground)

· Work on live plant doing rebuilds or upgrades, swapping out taps, splitters, couplers, and amplifiers (both aerial and underground)

· Work on live fibre optic nodes doing rebuilds or upgrades

· Utilize technical tools such as Field Strength Meters, VOM

· Read and interpret telecom design prints and update based on field findings

· Perform other duties as requested

Aside from having attributes that are in line with our core values, one other essential “must-have” is your ability to travel. WP Telectronics has projects all over Canada. Although many builds have us based out of centers for long periods at a time, we need road warriors who can go where the projects are. A typical shift rotation is 21 days on, 10 days off.

Required Qualifications and Skills

· 2 years of coax experience on outside plant is an asset

· Class 5 License and own transportation

· Ability to lift to 50lbs

· Comfortable working in heights using ladders and bucket vans (up to 40ft)

· Comfortable working inside confined spaces such as telecom manholes and service vaults

· Comfortable working alone and independently for days and weeks at a time

· Current Confined Space Entry, First Aid, and/or Fall Protection Certification is an asset

Wages

· Although pay will vary due to the piece rate structure, Coax Technicians on average make $400-$600 per day

Salary: $400.00-$600.00 per day
