Job Description: Cable Technician

Location: Raleigh, NC

Duration: 2-3 Months

Pay Rate: W2 – Open Pending Experience

Shift: Day

Job Functions:

• Responsible for installing new cabling in new or existing buildings.
• Termination and testing of new cabling.
• IDF and MDF buildouts to include assembling and installing racks, ladder rack, cable tray, etc.
• DAS experience a plus but not necessary.
• Knowledge in structured cabling and other advanced cable technologies.
• Own tools, PPE, transportation
• Communicates effectively and appropriately when dealing with customers and/or personnel at levels up to President.
• Demonstrates the initiative and creativity for self-development within and outside of the company.
• Must work well with little supervision individually and in a team environment.
• Must be knowledgeable or willing to learn various wiring configurations and terminations.
• Technical skills and knowledge of telecommunications industry and/or installation a plus
• Proactive Safety attitude.
• Takes direction well and strong attention to detail.
• Takes initiative to perform tasks and expand knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Communicates professionally and respectfully.
• Works well within a team and pride in client work.
• Always punctual for all work assignments
• Other duties as assigned
• Clean Driving Record.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Lifting, carrying, adjusting, moving and/or transporting of objects up to 50 pounds
• Walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, maintaining balance and/or crawling for extended periods
• Pushing and pulling of arms and legs; use of abdominal and lower back muscles
• Coordinating movements of the eyes, hands, fingers and feet
• Ascending and descending of stairs, ladders, lifts, etc.
• Speaking, hearing and seeing to avoid safety hazards
• Strenuous manual labor

The Environment for This Job Will Involve:

• Indoor and/or outdoor elements
• Hot and/or cold temperatures
• Uneven terrain and/or obstacles
• Interactions with other individuals
• Loud noises
• Large machinery
• Small and/or enclosed spaces

Upon meeting eligibility criteria, Verigent offers the following benefits:
