Precision Valley Communications of VT, LLC, a leader in the Broadband Engineering Industry, is looking to hire qualified individuals for our open Drafter positions, both telecommunications and cable. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in engineering or pursuing a career in the broadband industry. With headquarters in Springfield Vermont, PVC also has office locations in Massachusetts. PVC’s field services include the mapping and design of strand and as-built, as well as make-ready engineering and pole audits. PVC is a subsidiary of Dycom Industries Inc.

Overview:
The Drafter role supports PVC’s production department by creating, updating and modifying maps for broadband engineering projects. Once trained, compensation for individuals in the Drafter role is based on incentive pay, providing a much broader earning potential. Candidates with experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation are preferred. Prior telecommunications industry experience is a plus. Individuals with a propensity for gaming often find this role to be a great fit. In-house training is required to be successful and will be provided for the right candidate.

What you’ll do…
  • Draft and/or design drawings in an AutoCAD and/or MicroStation format for preliminary design drawings and/or field notes.
  • Perform basic drafting computations in customer specific format.
  • Translate field notes, verbal and written, information into CAD drawings.
  • Organize the layout of plans, details and units on the CAD drawings.
  • Ensure all drawings and designs are formatted to company standards and customer specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Who we are looking for…
  • Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD
  • Past experience in telecommunications or cable drafting.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of drafting experience preferred.
