CAD Technician

Responsibilities:

• Draft engineering design drawings using AutoCAD for utilities and telecom projects (SUE)
• Create CAD drawings from concept stage to final design
• Record and maintain daily field notes of survey activities
• Translate field survey information into CAD drawings
• Assist in the preparation of project-related drawings, documents, and data collection
• Liaise with technical staff, designers, and project managers to complete the project on time
• Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of MC or utilities AutoCAD drafting/designing experience
• Must be proficient using AutoCAD, experience working with paperspace, customizing scripts and tools
• Experience with underground and overhead hydro and telecom design projects would be an asset
• Experience with drafting or designing FTTH projects would be an asset and preferred
• Working knowledge of the OSP infrastructure
• Familiar with regional design standards would be an asset
• Self-motivated, sense of urgency, and capable of working under pressure while maintaining attention to detail to ensure work quality
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, ability to learn new skills
• Good understanding of how to read site plans
• College Diploma in civil program or other education relevant to the position

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour

• DCS / DEC (required)
