Cisco Unified Communications Engineer

Job Description

Our client is looking to add a Unified Communications (UC) Implementation Project manager/Engineer to the current team of 5 +. This person will be responsible for project implementation and Operations of UC systems. The Project manager will assist multi-disciplinary teams in creating project timelines, configure UC systems, provision accounts, compile design documentation and generate cost estimates. This individual would be expected to conduct system health checks, upgrade, and patch systems through change control to optimally run the UC systems. With knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications technology These PM’s will be responsible to support all telecom Projects, from VOIP migrations and builds to wireless builds, etc. Will work with the overall PMO and report on the telecom piece of every project.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive, UC design documents, including the scope of work, bill of materials, bulk provisioning files, test documents for the implementation of Cisco IP Telephony migration and implementation projects
• Participate in design, brainstorming, estimating meetings as needed.
• Assist with system health checks, patching, and upgrades of Cisco UC system clusters and associated technologies (ex. Cisco CUBE, etc.).
• Learn the UC solutions and their underpinning enterprise architectural standards, including Cisco enterprise telephony systems, PSTN/SIP design, dial-plans, etc.
• Assist Telecommunications with migration and implementation of Cisco IP Telephony projects.
• Coordinate design and engineering tasks with architects and engineers.
• Maintain a high level of personal expertise in current and future technology.
• As a subject matter expert, contribute and participate in MCIT UC Engineering objectives and goals.

Additional Qualifications

• Superior interpersonal skills with a team player attitude, demonstrating the ability to manage projects and multiple tasks simultaneously and adjusting to shifting priorities.
• Strong experience with office applications, including Microsoft Office suite, Visio, and BAT templates.
• Possess the ability to work at times on time-sensitive, priority projects.
• Ability to work closely with a member of a team while at the same time having a high level of personal initiative to work without close supervision.

Details

1) 4 to 6+ years Solid experience with Project implementation/migration of Cisco IP Telephony for small to medium size offices (30 users to 2000 users). Project management and consulting experience in creating SOWs is preferred.

2) 4- 6+ years experience with Cisco Unified Communications operations – Call Manager exp. is a must , Unity Connection, CER, IM&P maintenance and patching.

3) Solid experience experience in Unified Communications Engineering and operations. Experience in PSTN implementation, both PRI and SIP, and configuration of voice gateways in large-scale Cisco UC environments.
