The role
The successful candidates will be joining a fast growing team that works across various industries. The candidates are likely to have a business development background across multi-cloud technologies within Government.
Working with our clients’ leadership teams, our technology business development leads are responsible for engaging with clients and shaping and selling cloud technology enabled business transformation solutions.
They will have a wealth of hands-on experience gained from consulting or from a systems integrator type environment. Well practiced in initiating, shaping and driving business development activities and pipeline, the business development lead will manage all stages of the sales lifecycle. The business development lead will be required to open up new markets, shape opportunities and manage multi-disciplined teams to drive these opportunities.
They will be expected to be a ‘hands on’ business development practitioner; able to motivate and robustly drive a team through a complex plan of work. They have an appreciation of the solutions that can be offered coupled with strong stakeholder management skills.
They will also work closely with cloud strategists, multi-cloud pre-sales architects, delivery teams and sector specialists to ensure the overall solution is both compelling and deliverable.
The role requires the following attributes:

A market maker and possess a track record of initiating, developing and closing multi-cloud based technology enabled transformation sales opportunities within the UK public sector – with experience of working to and exceeding sales targets and landing major deals

Recognised as a trusted adviser to senior clients

Demonstrate ability to sell solutions that are pragmatic, timely and aligned to the clients business objectives and security requirements

Demonstrable hands on experience as a business development lead, with a track record of opening up new markets and selling technology enabled business transformation solutions

Have a track record of selling such propositions across government clients which could include a mix of the Home Office, Policing, DWP, Defra, HMRC, Network Rail, National Highways as well as other Home Affairs, Transport, Health and Local Government clients

Ideally have business development experience that relates to one or more of the following areas: Legacy transformation to cloud, industry cloud type propositions, cloud enabled data platforms, as well as experience and literacy across the multiple hyperscaler type technology organisations such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google.

Experience selling across IaaS, PaaS and Saas type technologies

Experience selling full lifecycle projects including design, implementation through to run and application management type services

Have a good understanding of the benefits & value of cloud transformation, and be able to articulate these to clients and relate these technologies to relevant business challenges and opportunities they have

Possess relationships and be able to engage with multi-cloud alliance partners in order to shape and sell services

Be collaborative in nature and able to work with our account teams to shape and sell solutions to clients

Able to flex influencing styles in order to build strong sustainable relationships, and demonstrate the firm’s values

Able to explore opportunities and seek to understand if they are commercially right for the firm in the context of our Purpose.

A confident written and verbal communicator, able to clearly explain digital/cloud ideas to non-technical audiences, and work effectively with non-technical colleagues and business executives

Be an inspirational leader, used to managing sales teams of consultants, analysts, technologists and third party suppliers to develop a healthy pipeline and convert these into sales.
