Role Description:

This role will provide senior cloud experience and engineering to the office of the CTO. This role is focused on the building of solutions in public cloud environments, and offers the opportunity to design, prototype, iterate and implement net-new solutions accelerations and cloud automation code. This role requires hands on public cloud engineering, with a preference on experience in telecommunication, financial services, or other large enterprise environments. The individual should be able to demonstrate strong understanding of public cloud platforms, design and development, highly available enterprise applications, and background of working in smaller, focused, and self-driven teams. The application should demonstrate a practical background on one of the three hyperscale platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

This role will be working with team leaders to define and build accelerations, scripts, helper code, and other technical assets for the cloud solutions group. The role provides a large amount of engineering autonomy with a wide range of tools, techniques, and approaches encouraged.

Key responsibilities:

• Engineering – Design accelerators and cloud infrastructure for solutions, including the development of cloud automation code (e.g.: CloudFormation, Bicep, Terraform). Maintains deep understanding of the cloud platform availability, durability, and scalability capabilities and how to deploy them into a range of COTs and bespoke applications.
• Technical Expertise – Serves as a highly specialized technology/ product expert, acting with high autonomy to deliver agreed technical objectives. Provides direct hands-on development of cloud systems.
• Professional Leadership – Reviews technical designs, partakes in roadmap and planning, and provides guidance to teammates on cloud automation development, maintenance & lifecycle. Demo software products to internal/ external stakeholders
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Promotes continuous improvements/efficiencies to automation code and designs by utilizing software engineering tools, agile planning, and work methods
• Presentation and Advocacy – Confidently present solutions, designs, and prototypes to the wider presales, sales, and delivery teams. Advocate your solutions via written, spoken, and public forums.

Critical Experiences:

• 4- 5 years experience in cloud engineering & design.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP in an enterprise context
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as Healthcare and Financial Services
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience working with building accelerators, automation scripts, discovery scrips, and other related assets in support of wider solutions
• Some experience in cloud operations and a prior migration project is an asset

Credentials:

• A degree in Computer Science or equivalent – information technology, management information systems, software engineering and networking.
• Advanced AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications are preferable.
