As a Communications Transport Engineer in the Transport Services group you will be responsible for system verification, installation, and maintenance of Fiber Transport, CATV, IPTV, and Monitoring systems.. You will have interaction with all avenues of Warner Media’s video contribution and distribution efforts throughout the globe. We are the internal service provider for news, sports, and entertainment production and distribution of content for all Warner Media Networks.

The Daily

• As a Communications Transport Engineer in this organization you will be assigned project based work that requires working with the end customer to develop full project scope, design requirements, and in service date expectations.
• Participate in test, evaluation, and recommendation of new systems with a strong focus on outlining the evaluation criteria needed to meet customer requirements.
• Maintain advanced system knowledge to help design system expansions and focus on automation and improved workflows.
• On Call responsibilities for critical systems to meet the demands of a 24x7x365 environment with heightened focus during high profile sporting events and Breaking News.
• Provide Remote Support and guidance during Air Impacting emergencies via phone and email to communicate on behalf of the Fiber group.
• Follow operational procedures such as ; RMA generation, spare parts ordering, QC verification, etc.

The Essentials

• HS Diploma/GED
• Minimum 2 years practical work experience in either Optical Transport, IP Networking, or Broadcast Network experience.
• Ability to be flexible with on-call requirements for a 24x7x365 environment
• Basic computer skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The Nice to Haves

• BS degree or technical school degree
• Telecommunications, Financial or Media industry experience
• Industry Certifications (Cisco, Arista, Ciena, etc)
• Experience working with Telecommunications vendors
• Prior history of working a job with overnight maintenance windows
