Construction Labourer

Working under the supervision of the Foreman, the Labourer will assist the Civil Team with the installation of telecommunications infrastructure (buried cable, wire or ducts) for various projects.
We have an exciting new opportunity out of our construction shop in Carlsbad Springs, ON for Telecom Construction Labourers.

Responsibilities:

• Digging holes and trenches
• Pulling cable
• Able to frequently use tools such as shovels
• Able to complete landscaping restoration work
• Assist with the removal of debris from work sites
• Assist with traffic control as directed
• Provide assistance with general site preparation and clean-up as directed
• Safely loading and unloading vehicles with supplies and equipment as directed
• Able to run gas and power equipment (i.e., saws, drills, jumping jacks)
• Able to assess work environment for potential health and safety hazards
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• 6+ months of related experience in the Telecom construction industry
• Must have a valid “G” Driver’s License or equivalent and a good driver’s abstract
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year long
• Good verbal communication skills and able to work with others
• Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs.)
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction
