Construction Supervisor – Telecom

The Construction Supervisor will be responsible for guiding and managing a team of general contractors to ensure that construction work is proceeding according to plan and within budget constraints. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for all project updates and responsible for advancing and achieving milestones for all active initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring that all building requirements and regulations are met.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Direct, advise, and influence decisions of district and/or program and project managers in all aspects of construction work.
  • Actively participate in and make recommendations in the vendor selection process.
  • Make regular trips to sites during construction, including bid walks, pre-construction walk-throughs, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout.
  • Provide direction to general contractors when doing groundwork.
  • Responsible for negotiating costs within the scope of the project, holding vendors accountable to ensure budget is maintained; and ensuring district and/or program and project managers, and customers are aware of issues that will impact project completion or cost.
  • Responsible to problem-solving issues that may occur onsite and making recommendations based on priority and need to ensure the project and budget are maintained.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with jurisdictional construction standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects, and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner and are in accordance with corporate and customer standards.
  • Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy.
  • Act as a safety observer and quality assurance representative while at the site, ensuring compliance with the client safety program and related workmanship practices.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of least five years of relevant experience in production telecom carrier environment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience managing vendors and contractors.
  • Exposure to working on underground infrastructure.
  • Reliable transportation and have a valid driver’s license.
  • Flexibility to travel when needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year

  • Carlsbad, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
