The Strategic Communications practice of FTI Consulting is one of the world’s most highly regarded communications consultancies. We offer a broad base of disciplines across a variety of specialist sectors including financial services, retail and consumer, natural resources, energy, public affairs, real estate, professional services, technology media telecoms (TMT), healthcare and life sciences. We serve as trusted advisors to management teams and Boards of Directors seeking to seize opportunities, manage crises, navigate market disruptions, articulate their brand, stake a competitive position, and preserve their permission to operate.

Our data science and analytics group is seeking an intellectually curious and creative Consultant, Analytics. The Consultant, Analytics will be supporting our growing data and analytics team across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and APAC (Asia and Pacific) regions. The successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of projects that help our clients and colleagues make sense of the world and to chart an effective path forward. They will also work in unison with other subject matter experts to create holistic solutions for clients.

What You’ll Do

• Support projects in the areas of audience and influencer insights, conversation and media analysis, campaign and message performance, event assessment and more
• Use existing platforms and tools to collect and analyse data
• Employ a variety of qualitative, statistical and machine learning-oriented approaches to investigate and interpret data
• Detect hidden patterns, identify trends, reveal drivers, predict developments, visualise similarities and differences, and otherwise leverage data to deliver actionable insights
• Act as an advocate of analytics inside the firm to evangelise the further adoption of data-driven solutions
• Collaborate with other experts on the research, planning and development of data-driven projects
• Support new business efforts by delivering data-driven insights to inform our approach
• Assist in the development of presentations, client decks and pitches

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience

• Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking
• Passion for tackling challenging problems
• Proficiency with digital listening tools (e.g. Brandwatch/Talkwalker)
• Ability to turn complex and manifold data into clear insights
• Talent to create compelling visualisations that bring data to life
• Detail-oriented and accuracy focused approach
• Skillset to manipulate datasets in relevant programmes (e.g. Excel or SPSS or R or SQL)
• Appetite for learning
• Desire to work with a geographically dispersed team
• Capability to work with other subject matter experts on joint solutions
• Strong (verbal and written) communication and presentation skills
• Excellent English

Desirable Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in analytical roles
• Expertise with data visualisation tools (preferably Tableau, Gephi)
• Additional language skills
• Programming skills in Python or R
• Expertise in journalism, media, communications, or marketing
