Senior Lead Auditor
** This position will be remote/work from home or a hybrid/mobile position in the Brooklyn, OH or Buffalo, NY office**
KeyBank’s Risk Review Group (i.e. Internal Audit Team) is the third line of defense. The Consumer Compliance Risk Review Team is responsible for providing independent and objective perspective on KeyCorp’s processes and risks through assessment and testing of the adequacy and effectiveness of Key’s risk management policies and practices, and adherence to applicable laws and regulations. The Consumer Compliance Risk Review team performs audits of business processes shared across the organization with a primary focus on consumer compliance topics as they relate to both deposit and lending products.
The Senior Lead Auditor is responsible for the administration and execution of risk reviews, including providing significant direction to a team of risk reviewers in conducting the most complex audits and projects. The Senior Lead Auditor will propose strategy for risk reviews, in collaboration with management. The Senior Lead Auditor is also responsible for completion of high-quality walkthrough and testing throughout KeyCorp, identifying, and understanding risks and controls associated with various business functions, executing testing to determine the design and effectiveness of controls in place, and drafting findings and reporting deliverables.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Senior Lead Auditor will be responsible for the following:
  • Demonstration of strong audit skills with a solid understanding of audit concepts within planning, fieldwork and reporting.
  • Performing regulatory research to understand the relevant compliance risks associated with the audit.
  • Participating in risk intelligence activities to identify emerging risks, trends, regulatory changes, and other items of potential impact with respect to the annual audit plan.
  • Independently demonstrates ability to prioritize; identifies obstacles within the scope of assignments; proactively initiates appropriate solutions with limited oversight; assists staff with prioritization of assignments with minimal assistance from Manager.
  • Demonstrates delegation skills to accomplish objectives most efficiently.
  • Strong business and audit writing skills; can cohesively present and organize information; effectively articulates key points; emerging ability to adapt message to audience within the scope of assignments.
  • Formally documents findings for management; creates audit reports with management oversight.
  • Demonstrates ability to present information to Risk Review Group team, manager, and senior leadership
  • Demonstrates ability to deliver thoughtful and organized message to line of business management in both written and verbal communication.
  • Intermediate ability to prepare or deliver a formal presentation or training.
  • Demonstrates ability to tailor message for audience within the scope of assignments.
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships with mid-level leadership.
  • Plays a leadership role in team initiatives; participates in Risk Review Group project initiatives.
  • Demonstrates ability to build relationships with clients and emerging ability to act as a trusted risk advisor
  • Demonstrates influence/challenge skills within the team, clients, and manager (e.g., appropriate challenging risks, scope, and providing thoughtful suggestions).
  • Demonstrates the ability to contribute to an organizational culture of respect and personal accountability regarding Diversity and Inclusiveness.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in a productive, collaborative, and cooperative way with a variety of people.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
The Senior Lead Auditor should possess the following skillsets:
  • Desire to learn about the various Lines of Business.
  • Knowledge of, or desire to learn, consumer compliance regulatory requirements.
  • Independent ability to multi-task and prioritize projects to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with clients and teammates.
  • Ability to guide staff and deliver performance feedback
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 4-6 years of audit experience. In lieu of audit experience, prior work history in risk disciplines with a focus on consumer compliance topics or other related experience will also be considered.
  • Solid product skills and understanding of business, industry, and regulatory concepts.
  • Solid knowledge across business and functions.
  • Ability to leverage business acumen to advise and consult with leaders within area of expertise.
  • Developing ability to draw insight from risk intelligence and make valuable recommendations.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong analytic skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior Internal Audit (ideally in Banking/Financial services) or Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
