We are seeking a critical thinking, detail-oriented and technically inclined attorney to join our Telecom Team. This Team supports the procurement and engineering groups that are responsible for providing the transport (e.g., fiber, etc.) that connects the T-Mobile network and exchange communication traffic with other carriers throughout the country. The position involves direct client support for all stages of the contract life-cycle across a variety of network related transactions. Transaction experience is required. In the position, you will learn about and support network “facilities”, network “interconnection” for voice and data communications, and “roaming”. Any prior knowledge you may about these subjects is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Think like the “Uncarrier” in the context of all that you do for T-Mobile, with a customer-focused, solution-oriented approach to all matters.
- Serve as a trusted advisor for the Network procurement and engineering organizations.
- Provide day-to-day legal advice, analysis, interpretation, and drafting to support a variety of T-Mobile network transaction-based projects from contract creation, through implementation, and as applicable, dispute resolution.
- Effectively and efficiently work with other in-house subject matter experts, legal teams, and outside legal counsel to advise leadership and solve problems.
Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience as a business attorney, preferably in-house and/or in a law firm, ideally working on commercial or regulatory aspects of wireless communications networks and technology transactions.
- Experience working with procurement, supply chain, and/or other non-legal contract management organizations, preferably in the communications or another regulated industry.
- Client-oriented with a high comfort level working with demanding clients.
- Quick learner with flexibility to take on matters in new areas.
- Technical acumen.
- Creative problem solver and results oriented.
- Excellent business judgment, and a proven ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
- Experience handling a high volume or high complexity of work with the ability to prioritize, work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- A U.S. law degree and admission to at least one state bar required.
- Legally authorized to work in the US.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, drafting, negotiation, research and written/oral communication skills with a strong record of effective cross-group collaboration.
- Ability to operate independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and advance creative, practical solutions in the face of ambiguity and imperfect information.
- Strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
T-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless precluded from doing so by applicable law. The CDC currently defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after the second dose for Pfizer and Moderna, and two weeks after the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination prior to successful applicant’s first day of work and will consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase (1) as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat
