Job Description
About the role
The Network Infrastructure and Telecommunications Manager will be responsible for leading teams who support all of Amcor’s business groups across the Americas, ensuring alignment with global standards. The teams will be responsible for the design, implementation, support, and continuous service improvement of the network infrastructure (voice and data) and related hardware/software. Reporting to the Group IT CoE Senior Manager, this role will be located near one of our Midwest sites (Deerfield, Miramar, or Oshkosh).
Key Job Accountabilities
- Manage an Americas based team including key activities such as analyze, design, test, install, document and support enterprise voice and data network infrastructure
- Manages and track the progress of multiple projects and team objectives to include work plans, resource planning and control, status reports, and budgeting
- Provide guidance for current and proposed investments in telecommunications and network infrastructure solutions for enterprise deployments
- Evaluates and recommends new products and maintains knowledge of emerging technologies
- Manage change in a demanding global and regional environment
- Demonstrate solid judgment in reactively solving problems as well as proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions
- Work with Security Team to coordinate network security measures to protect corporate data
- Manage all network and telecommunications suppliers and establish strong partner relationships; drive suppliers to expedient service restoration during system/infrastructure failures that impact our ability to provide service to the business
- Prepare and manage annual operating expense and capital budgets
- Lead team maintenance efforts including annual hardware asset refresh and annual software maintenance and patching
- Ensures that all changes are reviewed and approved by appropriate management before resources are committed – this includes scheduling reviews with management and appropriate personnel to review the risks to business processes
- Interact with global peers within the network technologies and across other departments, to solve the more challenging escalated problems as well as change implementations from the simple, to the more complex
- Demonstrate skills to facilitate and coordinate internal team projects
- Collaborate and work closely with other members of the IT Operations team
- Driving value with innovation of services, processes, and solutions
- Work and lead cross-functionally with a proven high level of facilitation skills in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and competencies that foster a productive relationship between IT and their business partners
- Demonstrate strategic orientation and participates in area roadmap process with the business
- Be a subject matter expert having extensive experience in the design, delivery, and operation of a regional enterprise voice and data network through insource and outsource processes
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
- 10 – 12 years of experience with 5 or more years of experience leading technical teams in a large Cisco network environment
- ITIL certificate will be advantageous
- Possesses a strong drive, purpose, high engagement and ownership in leading employees in our high performance culture
- Ability to communicate effectively and distil large amounts of information to all levels of the organization
- Has energy and passion with an eye towards continuous improvement
- Agility, sound judgment, independent thinking, follow-through, and initiative
- Results orientated with the ability to multi-task, respond to needs quickly and meet deadlines
- Good knowledge of infrastructure subjects, technological trends and innovation
- Solid knowledge of Cisco technologies, VoIP, firewalls and WiFi
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of systems monitoring and experience in setting up monitoring tools
- Experience in project management with a good attention to detail
- Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time within the United States and once a year to Latin America
