WHAT DOES SSI CANADA DO?
SSi designs, builds, and operates telecommunications networks in Canada’s North. SSi’s mission is to provide high quality, high capacity and affordable broadband connectivity to remote or isolated First Nations communities.
Being the North’s premier broadband and mobile wireless technology company, SSi has been providing Internet service to over 50 remote and underserved communities across the NWT and Nunavut since 2005. Continuing its expansion, SSi is currently deploying and delivering mobile wireless broadband services across the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region of Québec.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Provide world class customer service by connecting with our customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Provide top notch account and billing support including setting up new accounts, managing payments, and accurately recording customer and transaction information in our customer management system.
- Troubleshoot and attempt to solve IT related problems, or escalate customer issues that require more in-depth assistance to the appropriate internal party, and execute timely follow-ups.
- Perform device testing and configuration in person or guide customer through the steps remotely.
- Capture work activity in ticket queues, establish good relationships with clients by showing empathy and sensitivity, asking them relevant probing questions, and making sure they understand their problem.
- Maintain and develop positive relationships with our remote agents who assist customers in various geographical locations.
- Contribute to our after-hours support team, based on a rotating schedule.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
- Great people skills – you are friendly, respectful, patient and empathetic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you are an active listener, convey information effectively and tailor the message to different audiences.
- A knack for turning challenging interactions into opportunities for open and productive dialogue.
- Interest in technology and an eagerness to learn more about networking devices and protocols.
- Knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles.
- Availability to work shifts (morning, evening, and weekend).
- A solid understanding of commonly used computer software, modems/routers, wireless internet and mobile devices is considered an asset.
- Telecommunications experience is also considered an asset.
