Optum created Lab Benefit Management (LBM) as a service offering through a strategic vended partnership. Sales for the service began in and the first client was implemented in of 2022. Continued implementations and pipeline are seeing rapid growth and significant business value generation. The Data Analyst will work on various product data intake activities such Lab Benefits Manager and other future products.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Data Analyst position will report to the Director of Data Analytics. This position will partner with Optum engineers, directly with clients, and strategic vendors to complete mapping, translation, and loading across multiple products.

Interested candidates should be able to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic, and high-impact environment for emerging products. Activities include but not limited to:

• Communication (Internal, External, Vertical)
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to business and technical team members at all levels
• Establish and maintain relationships of trust with internal IT teams, client account managers, clients, and strategic partners
• Able to represent Optum in client facing environment to technical and non-technical partners
• Management and manipulation of structured and unstructured data
• Source to target mapping
• Extraction and loading of data as needed
• Ensure data integrity by performing QA testing of transformed data
• Working with data engineers and business partners for defect resolutions
• Partnering with stakeholders to define/refine requirements
• File management between client, Optum, and vendor

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in SQL or other related languages
• 1+ years of experience in translating business requirements (specifications) into SQL or other query code
• 1+ years of experience in data analytics, capable of conducting exploratory analysis independently
• 1+ years of healthcare industry experience (Claims, Member, Provider, Benefits, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with new client technical and data implementations
• Proven experience translating high level and sometime ambiguous business requirements into effective and practical technical architectural concepts
• Experience working in an Agile environment with Rally, Jira, or a similar test management tool
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
• Excellent communication skills

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
