Data Center Network Engineer

The Data Center Network Engineer will be responsible for providing data center network support. Qualified candidates should have experience in administration and troubleshooting of Cisco Nexus switches. The Data Center Network Engineer will assist in the support of Data Center environments as well as general network infrastructure and related mechanical devices. Documents the network processes and performs related tasks and remediation for a wide variety of switches, routers and telecommunications systems and equipment.

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for troubleshooting and diagnostics of network switches, associated fexes and cabling.

· Responsible for port activations and decommissions, patch cabling and labeling cables in accordance with customer standards.

· Perform weekly after hours change implementation and QA of changes.

· Maintain and update work items and documentation for problem resolution in ticketing system.

· Assist network designers with complex implementation, build out and configurarion of data center environment.

· Work independently and with minimal supervision.

Position Requirements:

· Must have at least (3) years of hands-on experience with administration, maintenance, and provisioning of Cisco networking systems preferably Nexus switches.

· Excellent verbal communications skills

· Must be able to monitor and troubleshoot service delivery points, equipment status, system alerts; provide status, document support problems, and initiate repair or replacement actions.

· Must be able to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting tasks for Cisco switches and routers.

· Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective actions.

Education Required: Associates degree or equivalent work experience

Experience Required: 3+ years

CCNA certification

Network plus certification
