The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Rapidly expanding telecoms service provider is looking for two data centre technicians with three years plus experience to provide operation and maintenance of my clients Data Centres and Communications rooms in London that support their growing fibre network. Their duties include monitoring the day-to-day performance of Servers, maintaining an optimally controlled environment for Servers, and troubleshooting network and server problems. They also be required to perform urgent repairs outside of business hours.

• The deployment of racks and related equipment to support customer orders
• Provide cabling support including crimping, patching, labelling, running and terminating
• Remote hands for IP and systems engineers.
• Power control and rebooting

Background, Experience And Skills Required

• Some basic experience working in IT, telecoms, cabling or in a similar role.
• Background in providing high levels of customer service in an IT or similar industry.
• Computer hardware troubleshooting experience.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of Hardware, builds/swap outs, desktops, Servers, data and power cabling, rack systems etc.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts.

Ideally you will have base understanding of networking and the TCP/IP stack. Racking cabling and patching, APC UPS management. Exposure to windows server experience, diagnostic investigations and reboots, remote hands for network and systems engineers including backup Exec.
