About the Team

The team is led by the Senior Manager, Convening for Good and is comprised of event managers and 2-4 delegate liaisons, in addition to operations, content and marketing.

Our events bring together the public and private sectors, helping them tackling the world’s most pressing challenges and transform lives through access to mobile. We provide tailored programmes within unique environments to facilitate government, regulatory and industry debate and knowledge sharing, contributing to the year-round advocacy activities the GSMA conducts on of its members.

Our flagship event is the Ministerial Programme
at MWC Barcelona
, which brings together the most influential telecommunications leaders from across the world. Convening industry CEOs, ministers, telecom regulators, data protection authorities, and senior representatives of international organisations.
This unique and exclusive forum expands knowledge, stimulates debate around current issues. It provides an opportunity to engage with mobile industry experts on policy and regulatory topics on a scale that no other event can match.

About the Role

You will engage closely with external and internal stakeholders, coordinating the attendance of government and inter-government representatives at the GSMA Ministerial Programme at MWC Barcelona 2023, with a focus on Europe and North Africa. Potential onsite support in Barcelona to deliver the events is typically one week for the Ministerial Programme but will be dependent on travel restrictions and team needs, and support for the Mobile 360 Series is based on needs.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the government and inter-government delegations’ attendance at the relevant event Ministerial Programme, such as database collection and management, invitation process and follow up, onsite logistics, Embassy involvement and pass registration.

You will also be responsible for ad-hoc translation of documents and logistical information from English to French and vice versa.

About You

You are highly self-motivated and committed, able to work autonomously as well as being a strong team player. You have excellent personal organisation, prioritisation and workload management skills. Your attention to detail is exceptional and you can track changes and predict their subsequent implications.

You also have solid data processing experience and a high-level technical competence in standard Microsoft Office products.

You have a good level of conversational French – you feel comfortable speaking over the phone and reading and writing correspondence in French.

You have knowledge in dealing with government delegations, experience working with CRM software and database management, and professional translation experience.

You have worked in an international environment before and are willing to travel internationally.
