Design Survey Engineer – Wireless Telecoms Job Detail
Key duties and core responsibilities successful candidate will be expected to undertake
- Survey telecoms site, with a view to produce a report and annotated sketches detailing all the existing and equipment and features
- Understanding previous designs to ascertain re-use or retention of existing kit/towers etc, especially in sensitive areas.
- Understanding the clients design scope, documentation and process to allow on site design that will aid CAD in producing GA/DD to the clients’ requirements, all the time keeping buildability and cost in mind.
- Ensure that Site Designs are compliant with company and local Health and Safety requirements.
- Ensure all administrative steps are claimed in order that reporting tools can be best maintained and allow advancement of the project.
- Ensure any unsafe practices and incidents are reported, investigated and preventative action taken in a timely manner, as well as reporting “near-miss” occurrences in line with our safety standards.
- Check the first issue of the GA and DD drawings.
- Produce Structural Calculations to support the design and prove the existing structure is capable taking the proposal Produce the H&S documentation that will accompany drawings once issued to the client.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience working in Engineering teams on Turn-Key RAN rollouts covering the Work Areas of Site Acquisition, Civil Passive and Active Design Elements and enabling Construction and Site Engineering with buildability in mind. 2G/3G/4G, with overview of 5G and Mimo. 4G and 5G elements essential.
- Technical delivery knowledge of products and procedures – vendor specific
- Site engineering experience including site survey, material specification & Site documentation production.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant OHS & CDM statutory regulations impacting the local market. Principle Designer role responsibilities taken from CDM document L153.
- Advanced education in areas practical and beneficial with a design engineering role.
- IT Skills e.g. MS Office & Omnix or other similar tools.
Desirable attributes or experiences
- Batchelors Degree or equivalent in Civil or Structural engineering
- Trained and Certified for Working at Height (Rooftop) to include Medical Clearance, RF Awareness and First Aid.
- Product Knowledge – client dependent.
- Demonstrates passion for high quality work output and drive to achieve performance targets.
