Seeking an experienced Underground Utility Design Engineer. The Design Engineer is responsible for creating fiber designs that are efficient and deliver solutions to the customer for OSP or ISP construction. The ideal candidate would also be responsible for carrying out quality audits on work produced by colleagues.
Job Description:
- Designing, researching, and prototyping new products including layouts for OSP and Fiber design
- Collaborating with design and production teams on projects along with relationship building skills
- Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for design
- Review completed design for errors and efficiency and deliver F1 and F2 designs for projects
- Identify solutions to improve production efficiency
- Develop ISP patch panel diagrams/ cable rack layouts
- Ensure design specifications are maintained
- Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements
- Modifying existing designs or products to improve their performance or integrating new technology
- Review and audit the work of other designers to ensure errors and inefficiencies in designs are identified and corrected
Skill Requirement:
- Excellent Communication and problem-solving skills
- Accurate and strong attention to detail and strong work ethic and integrity
- Competence in design methodology, process, and metrics
- Flexibility to work shift differential hours and strong organizational skills
ESRI Products and ArcPro, ArcGIS experience required
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- 2 years GIS experience required
- Excellent Team player and teamwork skills
Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, GIS, product design, discipline, or certification in drafting
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree.
3. 3 or more years of GIS Telecom Design experience.
