We are looking for a Director for the Rogers Bank Project Delivery Office. Rogers Bank is delivering innovative Credit Card products that provide unique value to Rogers customers. These products come to life through projects that are run by the PDO. The PDO has the oversight and ownership of all credit card technology initiatives – from compliance to customer experience. We are composed of seasoned, experienced technology and project leads that operate and evolve the full credit card experience within the Bank. We collaborate closely with legal, compliance, operational, marketing and product teams. The work we do spans backend, agent and customer platforms and is held to high standards of quality in what we deliver, and how we deliver it.


Who you are

You are a seasoned project lead who is experienced in leading large credit card programs and managing cross functional teams. You want to lead a diverse and tight-knit group of project and technology leads who will rely on you for structure and assurance of operational quality in delivering projects and services. You are experienced in vendor management and oversight of development teams that span internal and external resources, and build strong teams that successfully launch initiatives big and small. Credit card delivery is reliant on an understanding of both the customer impacts and the regulatory and compliance landscapes, and you bring awareness of both to the role. You are comfortable working with all levels of the organization, and are comfortable influencing upper management and presenting to executives, as your portfolio is a key part of the business success. You enjoy problem solving and working with others to find functional solutions to challenges big and small. Excellence to you translates to budget and schedule management, but also mentorship and partnership of others.

This position is based in Toronto while benefiting from a flexible work environment.

What you will do

Reporting to the Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, the Director PDO will lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers, technical leads, BSAs and test leads who are accountable for the execution and implementation of these technology initiatives. Your stakeholders will include operational lines of business and product teams that collaborate with you on creation and launch of customer journeys. You will be responsible for delivering key projects that impact all lines of business within the Bank and ensuring that technology enables business success and drives customer satisfaction.

In this role, there are key streams of work which you will be the lead for:

  • Identify, evaluate, and propose new system capabilities for the Bank in support of current and future anticipated business needs, in line with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
  • Oversight of the Change Management Committee (CMC) that assesses all proposed new business needs in accordance with prescribed standards for review, approval, and project prioritization.
  • Execution and implementation of all new initiatives endorsed by the Executive Team. This includes the development, setup, and ongoing support of the credit card platform and all customer facing and vendor interfaces.
  • Manage key risks – project oversight, resource allocation, coordination with internal resources and third- party service providers so that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with minimal customer disruption.
  • Ownership and accountability for the design and sound operation of current and future financial services/banking systems and interfaces ensuring system design is optimized to deliver the needs of the business with processing accuracy.
  • Provide program/project governance management/leadership for all new initiatives. Provide reporting and regular updates to the senior leadership team on project status and delivery.
  • Prepare and manage integrated program budgets, managing the control over finances for the program, and leading the financial planning to ensure appropriate funding is secured. Work with Finance to ensure Bank projects are managed in accordance with enterprise guidelines.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent and Subject Mater Experts (SMEs) to ensure a high performing PMO.
  • Provide challenge and oversight over major technology related initiatives in relation to the Bank’s risk appetite.


Preferred Qualifications
:

  • University under-graduate degree or college diploma.
  • Project Management Profession (PMP) Certification.
  • 7 or more years of experience in managing large, complex programs/projects in financial services industry with a specialization in consumer credit cards
  • Minimum 5 years managing direct reports
  • Credit card launch experience from an IT/PMO lens, with preference for Canadian credit card experience.
  • Experience integrating vendors to built IT solutions, manage, and deliver projects that interface with the consumer credit card platforms.
  • Significant experience with TSYS TS2 as the issuer processor, with knowledge and understanding of TSYS options and related change protocols.
  • TSYS TS2 migration project or Canadian credit card launch on TS2.
  • Detailed systems integration knowledge of credit card surround systems and interfaces such as statements, plastics, data warehouse, IVR and/or other telephony systems, loyalty systems, etc that are integrated with the core TS2 operating system.
  • Experience in managing large teams to ensure project deliverables are achieved on time.
  • Expertise in interpreting business requirements to translate into the system parameters and technical specifications required to deliver on desired business changes, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with our cardholder terms and conditions.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with high energy, strong executive presence, and proven ability to create effective, matrix, cross-organization relationships, collaborating and communicating across business and technology stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build, mentor, and retain a team of top talent.
  • Must be comfortable and effective in communicating and presenting at all levels up to and including senior management.
  • Significant work experience in application development is desired as you will be working with very technical experienced leads.
