ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as primary Project Management support, assisting Project Managers in delivering successful project implementation and results by creating a work atmosphere conducive to professional growth and development of excellent personnel at all levels.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Direct the activities of the Project Management Unit and determine how team resources should be allocated across projects
  • Lead and develop comprehensive resource models and risk mitigation plans in collaboration with agency leadership discipline leads.
  • Actively contribute to developing the FTTH industry and standards of quality.
  • Guide efficient and effective project start-up and close-down mechanisms.
  • Track project annual budgets and forecasts while working with Project Managers to explain variance and propose steps for programmatic course corrections when necessary. Review Monthly Project Reports ensuring strong monthly financial oversight.
  • Provide frequent and transparent updates, manage sponsor expectations, and keep all stakeholders informed of the progress of all projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior leadership and key stakeholders while acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Ensure interdependencies across programs/projects are identified effectively, and risks are managed preemptively.
  • Design and implement performance targets for the business development department and individual contributors.
  • Identify the company’s fundamental portfolio structure, organize our Strategic Transformation initiatives, and process improvement resources around it.
  • Regularly review and evaluate opportunities to improve the company’s project management best practices to achieve higher maturity.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the PM group to support enterprise vision, strategies, and FTTH initiatives.
  • Support, coach, and supervise a new team of Project Managers and Construction Managers.
  • Provide support to project managers to standardize the execution of projects, improving communication and risk management.
  • Ensure the business development department designs and changes are captured in market designs,
  • Procedures or guidelines to properly communicate across the organization
  • Leads project quality and post-mortem functions to mitigate and address project delivery challenges in support of continuous improvement efforts.
  • Prepares regular, thorough, articulate executive summaries for senior leadership on project and team performance.
  • Leads interviewing and hiring process in assigned areas and provide direct input into performance evaluations.
  • Establish a work plan, budget, and staffing for each phase of the project and arrange for the assignment of project personnel.
  • Create supply chain management strategies that increase efficiency and speed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Extensive experience in telecommunications, construction management, or engineering industry
  • Seven or more years of construction admin or project management experience with increasing levels of responsibility with 4+ years managing PM teams

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Skilled at managing teams and projects
  • Skilled at managing project deliverables and timelines
  • Strong negotiation, organizational, and people management skills
  • Ability to meet fast-paced, dynamic schedules and deadlines
  • Knowledge of subcontractor companies in various areas and ability to locate/develop new subcontractors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees
  • Must be computer literate, preferring experience with MS Office, MS Project, and/or other construction-related software
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • Travel to specific job sites (frequency depending on size, location, and issues) in order to coach and support field project managers.
