We are seeking an expereinced Engineering Project Manager who is ready for the challenges, responsibilities, and rewards that come with working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. iDirect is dedicated to providing next generation solutions for broadband IP networking via satellite networks. Responsibilities:

  • Successful delivery of large software development programmes in an Agile development organization.
  • Working collaboratively with cross functional and cross divisional teams to meet defined goals and objectives, as part of overall roadmap and programme delivery
  • Work with vendors, stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop detailed work package definitions, budget, resourcing plan and implementation plan
  • Drive collaboration and teamwork to execute the plan and monitor progress against the plan
  • Must be able to do lead project team responsible for design and implementation of key technical components, frameworks, interfaces
  • Leadership of a highly technical staff assigned to programme team as technical subject matter experts
  • Engage all stakeholder groups to create project teams responsible for the development, testing and operational handover of systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed level program plans, risk registers, and other program office deliverables
  • Carry out effective and proactive risk, issue & change management
  • Works independently and seeks creative solutions and alternatives to unusual and difficult problems
  • Work with various areas of the organization within and outside the Engineering including project members, management, vendors, and other business groups to understand requirements, approach and solution.
  • Provide status reports and deliver presentations to leadership and project stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Be responsible for supporting Agile Team(s) and provide them guidance in adapting SAFe, Scrum, Kanban and XP/Lean best practices
  • Support the team(s) using a servant leadership style and leading by example
  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other SAFe agile related ceremonies
  • Track and communicate metrics including team velocity, predictability and iteration/release progress
  • Ensure the Agile team/s is practicing the core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility
  • Update agile tracking system i.e. Jira to provide transparency on Product & Iteration Backlogs
  • Identify and remove impediments, prevent distractions that interfere with the ability of the team to deliver the Iteration goals
  • Partner with Product Owner/s to ensure Organizational Readiness prior to implementations
  • Assist team(s) in making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
  • Protect the team from distractions and external interferences
  • Ensure the team(s) strives to make each increment of functionality shippable
  • Act as primary coach for the agile team(s) in adapting Agile Methodology
  • The successful candidate must have 7+ years of experience managing telecommunications development, integration/engineering teams on implementation of major software development projects
  • Strong programme management and negotiation skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are musts.
  • 5+ years proven competence in delivering successful software development programmes utilizing both Agile and DevOps development methodologies in a complex business / technical environment or 5+ years of experience as scrum master managing software teams
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills – including oral/written communications, relationship building, collaboration, negotiation and conflict mediation – across a broad range of levels in the organization.
  • Experience with iterative agile development and continuous software delivery best practices
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, able to balance multiple projects and tasks, complete them successfully, and within timelines
  • Prior technical experience in design, development and integration engineering projects

Education
    • B.S. Degree in Computer Information Systems, or B.A. Degree in Project Management, Business administration, Organizational Management or equivalent experience.
    • 5+ years of experience as Scrum Master.
